Together with Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc., the developer and operator of Resorts World Philippines, the two thriving companies are allocating P65-billion to develop its latest 31-hectare leisure and entertainment township at the booming entertainment city of Paranaque.
In less than three years, Filipinos, and tourists from all over the globe, will be able to enjoy the grand and exciting new world that Westside City has to offer, as it is scheduled for completion by the last quarter of 2020.
Alongside the company’s goal of making it a grand gaming, leisure and entertainment experience, it is also part of the company’s vision, for their newest addition, Westside City, to be the “Broadway of Asia”. The said project will highlight facilities for the performing arts, and will be home to the Philippines’ first Grand Opera House.
“We are very excited to see Westside City rising to be a showcase of Manila, as a truly world-class Philippine capital”, says Dr. Tan.
Tan has showed great support for the Filipino performing arts, which Megaworld has established through the state-of-the-art facilities of Newport Performing Arts Theatre in Newport City.
Having showcased original Filipino stage plays, top-notch musicals, and other magnificent Filipino productions, the Newport Performing Arts has definitely given its audience a viewing experience like no other.
Megaworld’s latest project will also be showcasing Megaworld’s upscale residential condominiums, a luxury mall, as well as four of the most lavish international hotel brands; namely The Genting Grand and Crockfords Tower of the Genting Group, and Kingsford Hotel, Hotel Okura Manila of the Okura Hotels & Resorts, as well as The Westin Hotel of the Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts Group.
In total, these hotels will have 1,500 premium rooms to welcome guests with.
Next to Newport City, Westside City will be Megaworld’s second leisure and entertainment township, and will be the company’s 20th integrated urban township.
With the new Las Vegas-inspired complex soon to rise in the Philippines, the world-class tourist destination, also known as the “Leisure Capital of the Philippines”, Newport City, is also kicking it up a notch with their expanded luxurious offerings.
The original prime gaming hub, located across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, desires to capture a wider market, with the goal of attracting non-gaming revenues as well.
Alliance Global Group Inc. and Genting Group of Malaysia plans to welcome more guests with 4,500 more high-end guest rooms, from the current 1,226. Ongoing, is the development of Newport City’s existing prime hotels, Marriott and Maxims hotels. An expansion is also on full blast, to welcome additional luxury hotels such as, Hilton Manila Hotel, Sheraton Hotel Manila, and Belmont Hotel, among others.
With this, in addition, Megaworld announced a P30-million investment to the development of a 35.6-hectare township in the promising city of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Business giants, Megaworld and Travellers International, proves to stand firm in the real estate industry, while bringing support to the government’s “proactive marketing” of the Philippines — making it a growing destination for multinational corporations and upgrading the hospitality market.
Moreover, with its numerous township projects, providing quality and first-class experiences, such as Eastwood City in Quezon City; McKinley Hill, Uptown Bonifacio, and Forbes Town Center in Fort Bonifacio; Twin Lakes in Tagaytay; and The Mactan Newtown in Cebu — to name a few — the company has succeeded in bringing innovation and excitement to the Filipino lifestyle.
At present, there’s around 4,000 hectares in Megaworld’s portfolio and about 80 percent of it are allocated to LIVE-WORK-PLAY townships or mixed-use developments. The overall concept of these townships, which is combining the residential, office, commercial, retail, recreational, and institutional components to form a mixed-use community, was pioneered by Megaworld in the Philippines.
